Work on Memorial Road in Mount Barker is well underway with base work preparation and kerbing completed and cement stabilisation due to be completed the second week of June.
The road will temporarily reopen but please take care when accessing the area and pay attention to signage.
The next steps include asphalt overlay on road, asphalt footpath and tree planting, all to be completed in July.
The finished area (shown in the photo) will have a pedestrian crossing, pear trees, improved footpaths lighting, and ACROD parking spaces leading into RSL Park. The Shire has also ensured that turning circles of buses into and out of the carpark are catered for.
