Local Planning Strategy and Vision
The Local Planning Strategy sets out the long-term planning direction for the Shire over a 10-15 year timeframe.
It is set within the context of the Local Planning Scheme No.5, but is not a statutory document. The strategy sets out the general aims and intentions of the long term planning of the Shire and covers key issues such as housing, employment, environment, tourism, business activity, transport and public open space. The Strategy aims to provide guidance for decision making regarding such topics listed, and guide policy and strategic document development.
The Shire is looking to begin a review the current Local Planning Strategy by the end of 2023 to plan ahead for the next 10-15 years. This process is likely to take 2 years or so, and will include significant community consultation.
About the Local Planning Vision
The Shire of Plantagenet Town Planning Scheme Policy No. 18.1 – Planning Vision (Planning Vision) is made under Clause 7.6 of the Shire of Plantagenet Town Planning Scheme No. 3 (TPS3).
