The Shire of Plantagenet’s Draft 2024-2029 Disability Access and Inclusion Plan (DAIP) is open for public comment.

The Draft DAIP is based on feedback from recent community surveys, as well as discussions with local groups and other stakeholders.

A total of 250 participants were involved, with 92 per cent of respondents identifying themselves as a person with a disability, a carer, family member or friend of a person with a disability, or an employee or volunteer with an organisation working with those with a disability.

The purpose of the Shire’s DAIP is to identify strategies and implement actions across the organisation that will improve access and inclusion throughout the district. The DAIP is for all people who live in, work in or visit the Shire.

Strategies in the following areas have been developed in response to the community feedback:

  • Services and Events
  • Buildings and Facilities
  • Accessible Information
  • Service
  • Complaints
  • Consultation
  • Employment.

The Draft DAIP can be viewed in our Document Centre. For alternate formats, including large print or easy to read formats, or electronically by email, please contact the Shire’s Community Services Team on 9892 1111 or [email protected].

Deadline for comments is 8 October and can also be directed to 9892 1111 or [email protected].
