An exciting opportunity exists to join our team as an Asset Management and Strategic Planning Officer.
We are seeking an enthusiastic person with the relevant qualifications and experience who will be committed to developing, coordinating and maintaining asset management systems and plans for the Shire. This is a permanent, full-time position which will report to the Executive Manager Infrastructure and Assets.
Situated in the Great Southern and only 50km from Albany and Denmark, the Shire of Plantagenet is a prosperous rural district which offers an enviable lifestyle among wineries and national parks. The position is situated in Mount Barker, Plantagenet’s administrative hub, surrounded by picturesque landscapes and growth industries.
The successful applicant will be responsible for a wide variety of tasks including, but not limited to:
- Compile and maintain accurate databases on the Council’s infrastructure, property, plant and equipment,
- Assist in the development, integration and maintenance of asset management systems (i.e. RAMM2 database),
- Co-ordinate asset condition inspections and assessments, asset valuations and assist in developing asset renewal and maintenance programs,
- Provide information to inform the preparation of capital expenditure renewal and maintenance programs, and
- Develop Asset Management Plans including information required for Financial Asset Plans and projections.
Applicants will preferably have experience in asset management or previous experience in a local government environment.
Competitive conditions of employment are offered including a salary in the range of $81,806.40 to $87,773.92 per annum plus 11.5% superannuation contribution and co-contributions of up to 5%.
The appointed person will be required to work 76 hours per fortnight on a 9-day fortnightly cycle.
