Cr Ken Clements was elected to the vacant position of Deputy President at a recent Council Meeting of the Shire of Plantagenet.
The vacancy occurred after Cr Andrew Fraser resigned from the Deputy President position due to a change in his employment arrangements.
Shire President Cr Len Handasyde thanked Cr Fraser for his service as Deputy President since the October 2023 elections and congratulated Cr Clements on his election to the position.
“Cr Fraser has had a change in circumstances which meant he was unable to continue in the position of Deputy President however I thank him for his commitment by staying on to serve the community as a Councillor," Cr Handasyde said.
“I extend my congratulations to Cr Clements and welcome him to the role of Deputy President. Cr Clements has been a Councillor for more than 30 years, and I look forward to working with him for the remainder of this term of Council.”
