The Narrikup Town Centre Place Plan 2024-2034 was adopted by the Council at the November Council meeting.

Initiated by the Shire to coordinate and prioritise community infrastructure in the Narrikup townsite, the Place Plan establishes a shared vision for the townsite and an improvement plan for the community and stakeholders to follow over the next decade.

‘Town Team Movement’ were engaged to prepare the plan, with community and stakeholder engagement held between July and September.

The community consultation included in person workshops, online and hard copy surveys, a community walking workshop, and a community meeting. The findings were recorded in a Listening Report, which formed the basis of the Place Plan.

Thank you to the Narrikup Sports and Community Group (NSCG) for coordinating the planning process on behalf of the community. The NSCG endorsed the Place Plan in November and recognise it as a guide for their future activities.

Now Council has adopted the plan, it will be used to guide future activities, explore potential funding and identify partners and stakeholders to support projects.

The Narrikup Place Plan follows the Rocky Gully Place Plan, which was adopted by the Council on in May. The Shire intends to establish Place Plans for Kendenup and Porongurup in the future.

Digital copies of the Listening Reports and Place Plans for both towns are available on the Shire's website. Hard copies can be requested at the Admin Centre in Mount Barker.
