A Kendenup man was convicted in the Albany Magistrate’s Court on charges relating to breaches of the Building Regulations on 21 October 2024.
The court-imposed penalties of $12,500 for each of the two breaches of the legislation and $7,500 in court costs amounting to $32,500 in fines and costs.
Shire President Len Handasyde said the Shire's Compliance team continues to investigate relevant building, planning, and environmental health legislation breaches to ensure a safe community is achieved for all.
"The Shire of Plantagenet is here to assist with any enquiries relating to building permits and regulations," Cr Handasyde said.
"We want to see compliant buildings built and urge local residents wishing to undertake any building on their property to seek advice and guidance through the Shire office by contacting 9892 1111."
