The Shire of Plantagenet has unveiled a new, yet familiar, corporate logo.

Chief Executive Officer Julian Murphy said the organisation’s logo was more than 20 years old and due for a refreshed look.

“The updated logo retains aspects of the old logo, with a more contemporary look,” Mr Murphy said.

“It incorporates the five mountains and five colours, which represent the Shire’s five communities.”

Blue represents clean air and skies, purple represents the Porongurup Range viewed from a distance, red represents the gables of historic buildings symbolizing the district’s rich history, yellow represents the quality of the soil and diversity of the agricultural history, and green represents the landscape.

“The new logo allows for the addition of the names of the five communities, where appropriate, making it more inclusive for our community,” Mr Murphy added.

Council adopted the new logo at the October Council meeting.

The roll-out of the logo will be staged to allow the renewal of signage over time.

Community groups and organisations wishing to use the Shire’s new logo are encouraged to contact Executive Officer Governance Helen Purves for updated files and a style guide. Contact the Shire on 9892 1111 for further information.
