A few tips for getting the most out of your kerbside bin collection:
Place general rubbish/waste in your blue bin. This is anything that cannot be recycled (such as kitty litter or nappies) as well as hot ashes, building rubble, hazardous chemicals and substances, tyres, car parts and green waste.
Your green bin is for recyclable items. This includes paper, cardboard, steel and aluminium cans, milk and juice cartons, glass bottles and jars and most plastic containers.
There's no need to bag your recyclables before placing them in the bin. Just flatten cardboard and give bottles and jars a quick rinse and remove lids prior to placing them loosely in the bin ready for collection.
